We’re proud to release our new line of fabricated upper a-arms for Toyota applications. In the heart of these arms, you will find a CNC machined one-and-a-half-ton ball joints are made of 4130 chromoly alloy steel. They use a Teflon liner raceway in between metal surfaces and are heat treated to a RC hardness of 35-43. The joint shank measures to a solid 1.00” with a 0.75” diameter stud. This joint is the largest joint for Toyota Tacomas/4Runners/F.J. Cruisers on the market.
In the A-arms themselves, a compound bend angle sets the joint to a neutral position (0°-3°) at ride height. This is important because all 30 degrees of misalignment are available in the directions of up and down travel. All subcomponents of the arms are 3/16” thick and are welded and assembled right here in the U.S.A. a polished and laser cut stainless steel Pure Performance badge is riveted with ¼” aluminum rivets.
The red bushings inside the two ends are designed for offroad racing and prerunning. These bushings are very durable. Inside, the sleeve is made from the same material we made our shock shafts out of, nitrobrite surface infused steel. Ferritic nitrocarburizing involves diffusion of nitrogen and carbon into the surface of the metal, and is the same part we use to make shock shafts.
These arms are completely rebuildable and should be greased with 00 grease or thinner every 3-6 months.
